As a new patient, I had a great experience at Dentistry on Dunn. I went for my dental check up and had my hygiene work done. The entire staff including the front staff were friendly, professional, helpful and caring. Hygienist had done a great job. To have the time to allow me to ask questions before and after the cleaning was very reassuring. She made me feel so comfortable that I never felt like it was my first visit. Also, I could not have been in better hands, Dr. Sucheta was phenomenal. She took the time to explain in depth of every procedure she was doing. She is professional and has a lovely nature. I have definitely chosen the right place. I highly recommend Dr. Sucheta and her team as a family dentist for their professionalism, quality of care and outstanding premises.

I must mention that I have a fear of dentists because of childhood experiences, and with my most recent dentist retiring I wanted someone who could be as compassionate as he was. Dr. Sucheta and her entire team made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff created a positive and reassuring atmosphere for me, which greatly eased my fear about dental visits. Dr. Sucheta demonstrated an exemptional level of expertise and skill during my recent visits. Her bedside manner was gentle and contributed to a positive experience. I would highly recommend this practice to friends and family because of their reliable and patient-centered dental approach.

I have known Aliki for 10 years now. She is a lovely doctor and very affordable. Also dr Sucheta now she is my new doctor and she is the best. Lovely personality very well experienced and my crown holds very well. Also with hubby's difficult teeth problems they treat him with the best way 10 years in a row in this office. So this place is our go to family dentistry. Good point is Jeene the secretary who deals with all the insurances and she is well known about the insurance field. But overall all the secretaries there are amazing kind personalities.

Oakville Pediatric Dentistry FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

Children should receive their first dental checkup about six months after their first tooth emerges.

The initial dental appointment promises an enjoyable experience, aiming to acquaint the child with the dental environment. During this appointment, we will perform an examination and administer teeth polishing. Furthermore, there will be a discussion about oral hygiene and dietary guidance. Additionally, it presents an excellent opportunity to address any inquiries or concerns you may have about your child’s dental health.

Children should conscientiously brush their teeth twice daily: once in the morning, preferably after breakfast, and once more before bedtime, to ensure impeccable oral hygiene.

Children under three years can initiate tooth brushing with fluoride-free training toothpaste. As they reach around three years old, the age at which they can effectively rinse and spit, it becomes suitable to introduce and consistently use fluoride-containing toothpaste.

Fluoride-containing toothpaste enhances tooth enamel, reducing the risk of bacteria that can lead to tooth decay affecting the teeth.

Absolutely! Children should adhere to the same flossing regimen as adults, aiming to floss at least once daily.

Indeed! It’s a recommendation that we should assist our children with brushing until they reach approximately eight years of age.

Sealants are protective coatings that are applied to the grooves of permanent teeth to prevent the formation of cavities. Typically, dentists usually implant them when the permanent molars have fully erupted.

Indeed, dental decay can develop as soon as children have teeth. Given that dental decay tends to progress more swiftly in children, it is prudent to follow the dentist’s prescribed schedule for regular X-ray examinations.

Typically, children tend to experience the shedding of their initial lower front incisor at around 4.5 to 7 years of age, coinciding with the eruption of their six-year molars.

Children can have an orthodontic assessment as early as 7-8 years of age, and the dentist will advise when it’s suitable for a consultation with an orthodontist.
